How Can I Help?

“Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.” (Romans 12:13) The Lord’s Quilters is a compassion ministry, and there are ways to be involved in this ministry even if you are not a quilter.

I have material.

If the phrase, “She who dies with the most fabric wins,” applies to you, take a look at your stash and see if you can part with some of your material. It does not have to be a “typical” quilting material or motif. We use all kinds of designs and textures, and always need backing material.

We also need quilting thread, batting, measuring tapes and rulers, quilters’ pins, super-large quilters’ safety pins and washable material marking pencils.

I have time.

We need quilters! The requests for our quilts are so great that we can barely keep up. If you are a seasoned quilter, or are just starting out, we’d be delighted to have you join our ministry. Also, if you are interested in learning to quilt, we’d be happy to teach you!

We also need volunteers to help with packing and shipping the quilts, and managing the details of making sure we have the right supplies so our quilts arrive safe and sound. Volunteers will also help catalogue material and quilting supplies (e.g., thread, batting, etc.) so we know what we have in inventory and what we need to procure.

I have supplies.

It takes a lot of resources to keep our quilting compassion ministry going. In addition to quilting material and supplies, we need sturdy boxes, packaging material (e.g., tissue paper, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, etc.), shipping tape, shipping labels and Sharpies. If you have these types of supplies and can spare them, please consider donating them to our cause.

Basic office supplies are also helpful. Pads of paper, envelopes, pens, pencils, paper clips, sticky notes and staples will be greatly appreciated. While our ministry is housed at our church, we need to provide our own office supplies.

Donations

“The generous will themselves be blessed.” (Proverbs 22:9)

If you are unable to donate material, time or supplies, you can participate in our healing and prayer ministry by sending a monetary donation to help purchase quilting material and supplies, and to pay for postage to mail the quilts. We are an all-volunteer non-profit organization, and all monetary donations go directly to making quilts for those in need of healing and hope.
